Ryde Rotary Recognised for Transformational Year of Service and Culture Change
As Ryde Rotary celebrates its 80th year of service in 2025, we are proud to share that this milestone was marked by one of our most transformative years yet and we have the awards to prove it!
At our recent changeover meeting, District Governor Michele Ellery honoured Ryde Rotary with the District Governor's Shield Award, recognising our outstanding achievement across Rotary’s Five Avenues of Service: Club, Community, Youth, International and Vocational. This prestigious award is shared with our friends at Castle Hill Rotary Club, and reflects the collective strength, strategy, and spirit of both clubs.
But that’s not all. We were also humbled to receive the Golden Quill Award for Public Image, recognising Ryde Rotary for the most impactful public relations efforts across the district. From sharing compelling stories to building greater community visibility, our club worked hard to make Rotary’s message resonate and we’re proud it was noticed.
These recognitions mean more than just trophies. They are a reflection of what can happen when a club aligns its strategy with intention, gets real buy-in from members, and isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions about culture and connection.
This year, we didn’t just focus on delivering excellent service projects. We looked inward. We worked on how our club functions, feels, and welcomes. We took real steps to broaden our volunteer base, improve member engagement, and bring joy back into the way we serve together.
Because change isn’t just about doing more. It’s about doing it better, together. Strategy, effort and buy-in can change culture. And this year, we did. We’re a team.
Rotary is still here 80 years strong because it keeps evolving. Ryde Rotary is proud to be part of that legacy of reinvention and relevance. Signing off at the end of my year as President, I’m filled with pride. I believe we truly brought the fun back into Rotary. We leaned into change. And we showed what’s possible when passion and purpose come together.
Here’s to the next 80 years and the people who make Ryde Rotary the vibrant, forward-thinking club it is today.
With gratitude,
Anna Lindsay
2024–2025 President, Ryde Rotary
